Jameson Norton is the Chief Operating Officer of Newport Healthcare, a leading provider of evidence-based healing centers across the U.S. for individuals and their families struggling with mental health issues. He has recently served as Chair of the Board for the National Association of Behavioral Healthcare in Washington, D.C. and currently serves as the Chair of the NABH Youth Services Committee. Before his role at Newport, Jameson served as the President of Vanderbilt Behavioral Health where he had administrative responsibility to support behavioral health services across the Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) and the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network. At the outset of the pandemic, he was asked by the Tennessee Governor’s Covid-19 Unified Command to serve as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Covid-19 Alternative Care Site for middle Tennessee, initially located at the Music City Center in Nashville. Jameson is a Fellow of the Nashville Healthcare Council, a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), and a graduate of Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management. Jameson also began his career serving for seven years on active duty as a U.S. Marine infantry officer and another eight years in the Marine Reserves including two deployments overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom – Horn of Africa and Operation Caring Response in Southeast Asia before serving his final tour on active duty as Executive Officer for Marine Corps Recruiting across Tennessee. He was awarded two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Colonel Bull Fisher Award for recognition as the top infantry officer in his battalion. Jameson has served on the Board of Directors for Leadership Healthcare, Faith Family Medical Center, REBOOT Combat Recovery and the Advisory Board for the University of Virginia’s Batten School of Leadership & Public Policy. He lives in Nashville with his wife, Anna, and has three children, Jameson (11), Claire (9), and Caroline (5).
