Luming Li, MD, MHS

Dr. Li comes to The Harris Center from Yale, where she served as the Associate Director of Quality Improvement at Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital, and the Medical Director of Clinical Operations at Yale New Haven Health. In these roles, she led site-based and system-wide initiatives focusing on clinical quality and patient safety. She also served as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine where she provided oversight of quality improvement projects, serious event review, physician peer review and quality performance. She also taught medical students, residents and fellows on topics of leadership development and health systems science.

Dr. Li completed a 7-year B.A./M.D. program at Rutgers/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and residency training at the Yale School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry. She has also served on national committees within the American Psychiatric Association (APA), including the Health Systems and Financing Committee (2017-2018) and was an APA Public Psychiatry Fellowship recipient. She was a 2019-2020 Health and Aging Policy Fellow, and American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow. Passionate about physician leadership and service, she is currently an executive board member for the American Association of Psychiatric Administrative Leaders. She has written numerous book chapters, published peer review articles and presented extensively on the topics of health services and psychiatric leadership at local, regional and national conferences.
